A basket to hold toilet rolls… made out of toilet rolls.

I’ve found that all things made of toilet paper tubes have a tendancy to go ‘soft’ and sag.
This basket worked for over a year and then was abandoned and well… got squashed. I recently ressurected it and found the ‘fabric’ of the weave was still sound. So I used some pallet strapping to weave in and out of the holes (inherent to windmill loop) – and to my surprise – it stood up again.
This could lead to an interesting combination of materials in the future, as well as further trials of adding coatings to the card to give it more strength.

We are currently in the process of putting together instructions for some of our designs. We plan to ask for a small fee to fund the development of a ‘Loop Maker’ tool. In the meantime many of our designs are low tech and can be achieved using household tools and materials.
