Produce bag basket

High tensile PE Produce bags | Standard Windmill Loop

I revisited this project which has been quite literally shelved for some years. it was originally going to be a camping mat, but now I think carrier bags woud be more suitable for that.

I wanted to try ‘zip together’ some more panels after trying this technique with carrier bags. This is made from 5 square panels locked together and basket is quite large, about half a metre across.

I was pleased that it accommodated many types of produce bag, some of different sizes, and many torn, ripped, and with stickers cut out. In many cases I used small knots to make the loops whole.

The basket started off squared as you’d expect and I rolled over the rim to make it stronger. I’ve noticed that it has changed shape – now it has a definite sag to it and the base has spread out considerably.

I like the soft look and feel of it.

Would you be interested in instructions for this project?

We are currently in the process of putting together instructions for some of our designs. We plan to ask for a small fee to fund the development of a ‘Loop Maker’ tool. In the meantime many of our designs are low tech and can be achieved using household tools and materials. If you would like to express interest in instructions for the above project, we’d be glad to hear from you!
